The order of which names appear is similar in both of the above opening sequences. They both begin with the names of producers and other people who were involved with the making of the film. They both then give the names of the actors in the film and then give other names of people such as the 'director of photography'. The titles seem to appear in order of authority. A difference in the two opening sequences is that the name of the film spears at different times. In Shutter island the name of the film appears last whereas the Hunger Games Mocking Jay appears in the middle of the opening sequence as the 14th title out of 23.

Preliminary Task

For our preliminary task we were asked to produce a short film demonstrating a selection of different shot types. This included: an establishing shot, match on action shot, shot reverse shot and an over the shoulder shot. We were able to successfully produce these through our video. In preparation for the filming we decided on a location, chose the people we wanted to use to play each character and then produced a script for them to use. On the day, we ensured we had all of our equipment ready and then met ready for the filming. Here are some pictures taken as we were filming the piece.
After filming the content of our piece we then returned back to the classroom to edit the clips together and add a back in track to go alongside the visual footage. After a few sessions in class we had finally completed the process and had the video finished and uploaded onto YouTube.

Thriller Movies

 What is thriller?

Thriller can be a novel, play, or film with an exciting plot, typically involving crime or espionage. Thrillers often keep the audience on the 'edge of their seats' as the plot builds up. Main elements of the film are often hidden from the audience in thriller films and there are usually lots of fight and chase scenes.
The aim for thriller movies is to create suspense and excitement for the audience. Typical conventions of a thriller movie are

About Me

My name is Rebecca Tansley and I am 17 years old. Currently I am studying A-level media studies, business studies and psychology at Ashfield school post 16 in year 12.

In my spare time I like spending time with my family and friends. I go to the local gym as I like to keep healthy. I also enjoy experiencing different places and countries and visiting the attractions in that place whilst there.

I have an interest in media, not only TV but social media too. I chose to do A-level media studies as I did it at GCSE level and knew I would continue to enjoy it in post 16. I think media studies goes well with my other subject choices because media is a part of everyday life that can be applied to many different situations. I enjoy keeping up to date with the lastest gossip and things going on in the world as well as being interested in a wide variety of music.

I love to spend time with my family and friends doing different things such as visiting new places and meeting up together. I have two dogs called Toby and Ellie as well as a cat called Max. Toby is a collie crossed with a staffy and Ellie is a Lhasa apso.

I enjoy going on holiday to different places around the world and meeting new people, trying out new foods and experiencing the different cultures. We often go on family holidays to France as we have friends that live there, whilst there I love to learn the French language and put it to use.

I will be posting my media work and coursework onto this blog.
